After hours, when busy, or always: which forwarding fits

The codes most carriers use, and which kind of forwarding fits which shop.

Your number stays your number. Pickwick gets its own line, and you forward to it in one of three ways.

Three kinds of call forwarding

  • No answer · rings your desk first, then the agent after a set number of rings. The usual choice for a shop with a dispatcher during the day.
  • Busy · the agent takes the second call while you are on the first.
  • Always · every call goes to the agent; staff are reached through the dashboard app's notifications and the transfers it makes. The usual choice after hours, switched on when the office closes.

Forwarding codes that usually work (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, VoIP)

Dial these from the line being forwarded, where NUMBER is the line Pickwick gave you. Carriers differ; if a code does nothing, the carrier's app or support will have the equivalent.

Test it: forward, ring your own number from another phone, and listen for the recording notice. Then read the call back on the dashboard.
