Pickwick or My AI Front Desk for a trade shop

A five-channel bundle or a phone line: its published prices, when it fits better, and how Pickwick differs.

By Pickwick · published 2026-10-11 · updated 2026-10-17

My AI Front Desk sells an AI receptionist bundled with web chat, text messages, email drafting, form handling and outbound calls, in one plan. Pickwick sells phone answering only. Most of the comparison comes down to whether you want the bundle.

What My AI Front Desk's pricing page lists

Business-in-a-Box is $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually, sized for 1 to 10 interactions a day. It includes 200 voice minutes, 100 chatbot conversations, 400 text messages, 500 email drafts, 300 form submissions and 20 outbound calls a day. Extra voice minutes cost 25 credits each, $0.25. There is a 7-day free trial, no contract, and cancel anytime; the page says there is no permanently free plan. Larger partner plans are priced on request.

When My AI Front Desk is the better choice

  • You want chat, texts and email handled too. All of them are in its plan; Pickwick answers the phone and nothing else.
  • Your phone volume is low to moderate. At its published rates a 300-minute month is $124 ($99 plus 100 minutes at $0.25) and a 900-minute month $274, both below Pickwick's $149 and $349 plans for the same minutes.
  • You go over your minutes often. Its extra minute is $0.25; Pickwick's is $0.49 on the smallest plan.

Where the two really differ

A bundle against a phone line done one way. My AI Front Desk spreads one plan across five channels. Pickwick's plan is minutes on the phone, set up around a home-service shop's calls: the owner approves each booking by default, the caller's number and address are read back, and a caller who names gas, carbon monoxide, smoke or sparking hears fixed 911 words before anything else. If those rules matter for your calls, test them on both before forwarding a line.

Pickwick, in short

Software that answers your line, says it is automated, reads back the number and address, sends a named hazard to 911 in fixed words, and pencils the job in for your yes. By the minute: $149 for 600 minutes, $349 for 1,000, Spanish included, 14 days free on your own number. The full plans are on pricing; a call, step by step, is on how it works.
